The Brooks Defyance, which stands for defiance and challenge, has a wide forefoot and midfoot and is often recommended for heavier neutral runners. This does not alter the fact that lighter built runners can also perform well. The flexible fit makes this shoe very suitable for a large number of neutral runners.
The Brooks Defyance is a durable shoe with excellent cushioning and a sturdy appearance. The shoe is equipped with so-called Omega flex grooves; these are small grooves in the outsole that promote flexibility when walking.
The Brooks shoes contain the gel: Brooks DNA. This shock-absorbing gel (a non-Newtonian fluid) adapts to the force exerted on it. The 'tailored' cushioning responds, as it were, to the specific weight, pace and movement of the runner as well as to the environment (the surface).
