Zandstra duo diamant block Foss replacement plate

The detachable diamond grinding plates have the following structure:
1200 (10 Micron) Extra Fine
400 (37 Micron) Fine
The plates are firmly and flatly attached to the plastic block via 6 magnets. There is a small recess on the side of the block.
This recess allows the plates to be detached from the block. This for cleaning or replacing.

Advantages of the FOSS Diamond Block:
- Sharpening is faster
- The diamond plates remain flat
- Less burr formation
- Durable in use
- Suitable for all qualities and hardnesses of skate steel
- Easy to keep clean (Rinse with water)
- Virtually unbreakable (with normal use)
Unique to the FOSS Diamond Block is the possibility to easily replace a plate after prolonged use.

Some advice:
- Always use water as “lubricant”. The diamond then has less wear.
- Pressing hard while sharpening is not a good idea.
- After grinding, clean the plates thoroughly with water and store them dry.
Even the finest diamond plate is still too coarse for polishing the skate blades. We recommend polishing the irons with the
Zandstra 3M Polishing System.

Durability of the diamonds
The diamonds wear out during use. This goes as follows:
1. In the beginning, the diamonds have a sharp structure
2. This sharpness disappears after 1 or 2 sharpenings. The diamond then retains the same structure for a longer period of time.
3. After many grindings (100+), the cutting speed decreases.
